#1 in Germany

My book The $0.99 Ubuntu Beginner’s Guide is currently a #1 bestseller on Amazon.de.

Alas, it’s actually not as impressive as it sounds. Specifically, it is #1 in:

Kindle-Shop > eBooks > Fremdsprachige eBooks > Englisch > Computer & Internet > Betriebssysteme > Linux

Translated to English, that goes:

Kindle-Shop > eBooks > non-German eBooks > English > Computer & Internet > Operating Systems > Linux

So, The $0.99 Ubuntu Beginner’s Guide is the #1 bestseller for English-language books on Linux operating systems on the German version of Amazon. Which is kind of a mouthful. Especially in German, a language that is rich in syllables.

Also, I got to number #1 by selling exactly one copy. I suspect English-language books on Linux are not precisely in high demand in Germany.

But, still. It was my first German sale! And I plan to mention that the next time I hit the bar. “Hey baby – my book is the #1 bestseller in English-language books on Linux on the German version of Amazon!” If that doesn’t impress the ladies, then civilization is doomed.
