Sir Calem is introduced as a companion-knight of Hector (when they come back to Tarlion via gate). Calem had sworn to follow Ridmark and Calliande, not Hector.

He’s both. Hektor made him a Companion back in TOWER.

Question. How much younger did the sword of Life make Ridmark and Calliande? Given the problems of pregnancy in the late 30s and early 40s I’d be guessing quite a bit.

Not that much younger, all told. It was more of a rejuvenation process. They wouldn’t look immediately younger (people who know them would think they look energetic) but they would have more stamina and resilience than they otherwise would.

The ending was great and thankfully most of the party did survive. I did wish Calliande learned some new spells. She has mostly stagnated in her practice of magic and has become rather boring. In every encounter with the Maledicti, I was always wondering whether she would design and cast a ward spell to prevent them teleporting about. Their teleportation was a ridiculous cheat power with no limits – and she really should have put in some late nights discussing with Antenora and studying on how to counter it. I am come on – that was the first thing she should have done after her first battle with them. In the end, all she did was just desperately tank their spells and wait for Ridmark and the Swordborn to save her. I guess that was valuable enough to win the battle..but still BORING.

She should have learned from Rhodruthain on how to cast the gate spell and how to teleport. Those are valuable skills and any mage their salt would be begging the gray elf to teach them. And considering Rhodruthain owes Calliande, it was a lost opportunity. Instead, Ridmark got the good stuff.

Also, a bit confused about why Aeliana Carhaine at the end calls her father the High King. I mean he was never crowned King was he ? And he doesn’t even have the Pendragon name, so “rightful” is also out of the picture.

Let’s just say Aeliana is a fan of historical revisionism, and her view of recent events in Andomhaim is very, very slanted.
