Dragontiarna

what will DRAGONTIARNA be about?

I am now underway with DRAGONTIARNA: KNIGHTS, the first book of my new epic fantasy series.

The first sentence:

“The day before it began, the day before the sky ripped open and the dragons returned in the Year of Our Lord 1491, Ridmark Arban rode west along the coast of the southern sea.”

What will it be about? I’m fond of arc words, so here are some of the arc words for the new series:

-The door must never be opened.

-Mankind shall become dragon gods.

-Five Heralds of Ruin.

-The magic was never meant to be used.

DRAGONTIARNA will also have five main characters. The main protagonists:

1.) Ridmark Arban.

2.) Tyrcamber Rigamond.

3.) Third of Nightmane Forest. (She had to be third on this list, obviously.)

4.) A new character. A woman most people believe doesn’t exist.

5.) A new character. A man imprisoned for stealing a pig.

When will the book come out? August, if all goes well.

Sounds good. I hope Selene gets page time. She’s funny in a crazy sort of way. Especially when she’s insulting the villain of the entry.

How many books will be in this series and will there be a companion series like Shield Knight?

  • Ok, let’s make some quick predictions:
Ridmark Arban rode west along the coast of the southern sea (he is listed without his family – interesing) only Third is also a main charakter, so they are going probably fishing, when (The door must never be opened) thay are transportet to Malison World (by Five Heralds of Ruin or by a woman most people believe doesn’t exist.). There thay met Tyrcamber and together try to stop Warden plan and Dark Dragon Cult (Mankind shall become dragon gods). And we have a man imprisoned for stealing a pig with magic that was never meant to be used in that way.
So we can hope for at least 10 to 15 books

You’re about 30% right, but it would be cheating to tell you which 30. 🙂

They can’t be transported. Or at least probably aren’t. Why would the sky rip open and dragons return to (The Frostborn world that still doesn’t have a name) if he was going to ship Third and Ridmark off? I think the door that must never be opened refers to the dragons of the Dragon Knight blade.

Look the original dragons were supreme masters of magic. The REMNANTS off their abilities gave birth to a sword that stops time and can create wormholes. Where did they go? Surely they couldn’t have been transformed humans? What if they left through (Malison world that also doesn’t have a name)? The door that must never be opened was mentioned by Rimael (actually I think he talked about a power that shouldn’t be used) BUT if the door that the Liberated of the Malison world are guarding is connected to the original dragons that would explain both why the Malison world has so much magic and why people transform into friggin dragons when they draw on their worlds magic too much…And if the original dragons left the “door” open when they left, or left a Well of their own power somehow….

Hmmm would someone who tumbles through a gate to Ridmarks world still transform into a dragon if they overused magic? And vice-versa?

If you read the bonus chapter at the end of the last Sevenfold Sword book, you’ll see it says ‘”There will be five Heralds of Ruin,” said the Warden. “And then I shall open the door that must never be opened.”‘
And 10 years after Ridmark & Calliande escapes from the Warden, the first of the five Heralds show up.
I think this all implies that Warden (and Miss Carhaine) will be the main antagonist/villain in the new book series, and that Warden will be the one to open the gateway between Ridmark’s world & Tyrcamber’s world. I also think that the real dragons, the ones that made the Dragon Knight’s sword, left Ridmark’s world and went to Tyrcamber’s world, and that the Malison curse is a result of the dragons sleeping/hibernating somewhere on the new world. How this all will help the Warden escape his prison, I have no idea, but I can’t wait to find out in the new book series!
PS: Jonathan, how come we only hear about Tarrabus having a daughter now, who is her mother (is it Imaria Licinius (shadowbearer)?), and how did she survive?

Tarrabus fathered Aeliana when he was still a teenager.

          • And gave her to the Red Family? Who was the mother?

          • Jonathan Moeller

Both Tarrabus and Aeliana agreed that she was no one of importance.

If Ridmark’s world has humans from Britain, the world of Malison has French humans, will you have a world or continent using Romans? the missing 9th legion maybe? It would be interesting to see how a Roman inspired culture deal with Dark Elves and assorted nasties. Might be a bit grim though. The Romans were a people who new how to hate.
