CLOAK OF ASHES underway!
I’m very grateful to everyone who read WRAITHSHARD: SWORD & FLAME, but there’s no getting around the fact that the book flopped, and it flopped hard. I also got many, many annoyed messages from people about Kindle Unlimited.
So, after considering all that, I’m setting the WRAITHSHARD series aside for now and will come back to it at a better time (possibly never).
Meanwhile, I’m on Chapter 6 of 21 of CLOAK OF ASHES, and it’s full speed ahead on that book! If all goes well it will be out on Amazon, B&N, Kobo, Apple Books, Google Play, and Smashwords sometime around the middle of April.

And here I was getting excited about the series. Do you think you will create a closing book for those who actually bought and enjoyed the book?
Anything with Mazael Cravenlock is an awesome read. I have read all the demonsouled books and the mask books. I just got this on kindle because it’s not on the nook. I was really looking forward to the continued adventures we where about the get with Mazael. I hope you do come back to the series soon rather then later. I have also read several of the blades books too. But I always return to the demonsouled books. Anyway I’m babbling. Have a great day and I look forward to reading more about Mazael in the future. 🤞
Just shows how off I was. I thought the series would do well based off my binge reading habits. Looking at the Amazon rankings in the book description I was under the impression that it was doing really well. What does come to mind is that being on KU I wonder if people were holding off until the series had several books out to binge read. I know that when I look at new books in KU I tend to gravitate towards series that are already several books long over book 1s.
I like how you mix things up writing multiple series simultaneously. I also appreciate how communicative you are on your writing/series status on a routine basis. There are several Indie authors whose books I really enjoy that I get so frustrated with. Their last book will be 6 months ago, their Facebook feed has shown the same pinned post for 2 years running, and they never talk about their WIP. All they do is bemoan their poor sales and how much everything sucks. Doesn’t do much to gather or keep reader engagement.
On the other hand I was crushed on the delay for Cloak of Ashes. Cloak Games and Cloak Mage are some of my favorite series. Looking forward to mid-April now. Till then I need to get caught up on Dragontiarna as I fell behind a book or 2. Thank you for all the great books you have been writing.
Bad news,
I bought Wraithshard: Sword & Flame and am really enjoying the book (reading time is cut down because the weather here has been so nice). Mazael, Romaria, Lucan, Molly, are rich and interesting characters, I thought the new characters and the story-line was very interesting. I was really looking forward to the full series, but I understand that the business side of things.
Followed by good news,
I am a big fan of the Cloak series and look forward to seeing what kind of task Tarlia will send Nadia on and what kind of trouble Nadia will get into/create accomplishing said task.
I would have bought Wraithshard if it had been on nook. And if it goes on nook, I’ll get it.
Maybe that is the key. Write one book at a time, putting them on all platforms. Then take the finished series and put it on KU for a while. From what you’ve said, that is what works best.
