Tyrcamber and Ruari were eating lunch, while Angaric and Daniel played chess on a folding wooden board with stone pieces.

Ruari produced her tablet and wrote on it.

WHAT IS THIS GAME? I HAVE SEEN IT MORE AND MORE AMONG THE MEN.

“You want to tell her?” said Tyrcamber, gesturing with a piece of bread at Angaric. “You always enjoy listening to yourself talk.”

“That is both insulting and entirely true,” said Angaric. “Fortunately, everyone else enjoys listening to me as well.”
