There is no honor among thieves.

My name is Nadia, and I’m a shadow agent of the High Queen of the Elves.

That means I use magic to steal things for her.

Now she wants me to steal a treasure from an Elven lord without him even realizing that it’s missing.

To pull it off, I’ll need a crew.

But there is no honor among thieves, and not even all the magic in the world can protect me from a blade in the back…

  • This was a great book. I am hoping that we see more of riordan in the next book. Or more of nadia and the fruit company. I did like seeing Nadia work on her own though and manage everything. It showed she’s still got it.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed BLADES. A short preview of IRON – Nadia goes to Montana after an Elven noble is assassinated.

  • For whatever reason, Cloak of Blades isn’t turning up when I try to search for it on my nook… 🙁

Well that was a fun read. You know what I think is my favorite shared trait between Nadia and Tarlia? Besides their names apparently which are way more similar than I ever noticed…..

Their practicality. That’s a weird thing to enjoy about a character isn’t it? Do I care? No, no I do not. Both women look at a problem and go gee, how can I solve this with the least amount of effort, the greatest amount of benefit and not get myself almost killed because I was a moron and acted without thinking? I feel like a lot of stories in the world, both real and imagined, would have different plot lines if more people thought this way. Seriously though what sort of leader disdains her romantic followers? Tarlia…

That being said I feel like I have to ask the obvious……..why is this called Cloak of Blades?

Vashtyr’s problem is that he’s romantic about something that was essentially unfair and dangerously unsustainable – like getting romantic about the good old days of piracy, slave trading, or child industrial labor. Tarlia has her own perspective, of course, but she’s telling the truth when she says the arrogance and incompetence of the Elven nobles paved the way for the Archons.

It’s called CLOAK OF BLADES because 1.) what’s in the box, and 2.) Nadia has to watch her back so one of the other thieves doesn’t stick a blade into it.
