Dragons never forget a debt.

My name is Nadia, and I’m a Marshal of the High Queen of the Elves. That means I’ve learned all kinds of secrets.

One of them is that several dozen dragons live on Earth, disguised as famous musicians and wealthy industrialists.

Now the dragons are holding a council to determine whether or not they wish to leave Earth, and my job is to persuade them to stay.

But so many dragons in one place make a big juicy target for the High Queen’s enemies.

Including the ruthless cybernetic wizards of Singularity…

  • Bought it, read it, loved it! Do you know how many books will be in this series?

Thanks! Not exactly sure, but it will be somewhere in the upper teens.

Loved the book, though technically this battle was an big VICTORY for the bad guys and a major loss for the Dragons and the Elven Empire. The security teams hired by the Dragons were unfortunately utterly incompetent and useless. Once they confirmed that they had lost all network connectivity, they should have been evacuating immediately. And no one bothered looking at the lamps despite being warned. The warning send by Nadia was effectively made useless.

There is also a technical error in the book.

“Well.” I shrugged. “I might be a magus, but I’m not going to be an archmage. Humans don’t live long enough.”

Actually Nadia was already informed (more than once) that due to the spell of golden fire used so many times – her lifespan would be greatly extended at the cost of her fertility. She even remarks this to herself in the earlier books.

Yeah, it was a tactical stalemate but a solid strategic victory for Singularity. A strategic defeat for the High Queen, but Nadia’s presence kept the defeat from becoming a total catastrophe.

Well, we’ve got a ways to go with the series yet, so it won’t be for a while.
