Fun to read about Caina again and enyojed the book. But I feel she is still acting like a Ghost Rogue and not really taking advantage of her high noblewoman status. Doing *everything* by herself as a solo operative when outnumbered and outgunned is very silly now. A lot of things could have got wrong here if she wasn’t lucky.
Where are her guards and her military force ? She is a Countess of the Nighmarian Empire. All nobles can maintain a small military force right ? She and her husband should hire some very capable people on their payroll – folks good at combat or stealth. She shouldn’t need to go running to Ark every-time for support and protection. She actually has the higher title, so this should be embarrassing.
