THE BURNING CHILD came out on November 4th, and since then it has sold 178 copies, which is really good for a 22,000 word novella.

Thanks, everyone!

A few people have asked if I intend to do additional stories in THE THIRD SOUL. I would like to, but I admit I’m not entirely sure where to go from here. I do have an idea for another story called CRYPTS OF THE OLD EMPIRE, but that would be a 60,000 word novel or so, and I’m pretty committed to DEMONSOULED and THE GHOSTS just now.

So we’ll see – but you never know when an idea can strike.

I hope you do eventually get around to that novel!

      Thanks!

The tricky part about continuing THE THIRD SOUL is that both Corthain and Rachaelis have essentially resolved their interior conflicts, and so I would have to think up new ones that don’t come across as “author heaps bad things on characters to continue the series.” Trouble is, I haven’t figure out an internal plot arc quite that clever yet.

      • That’s a good point. I’m glad to see that you care about the intergrity of your work, unlike other authors who will just keep turining out sequels to make an extra buck.

Thank you! Though I am of course by no means adverse to an extra buck. 🙂

That said, I started writing DEMONSOULED in 2001, Caina and THE GHOSTS in 2007, and THE THIRD SOUL in 2009, so pretty much all the fiction I’ve written since 2009 as been in one of those three settings. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to do so, but I’m also ready to try something new in a new setting.
