That’s awesome!! If for the fact that I’ve already read them all 😛
Are you planning to write another short story, perhaps in the eyes of Kylon while he is in Istarumnel (I’m pretty sure i spelled that wrong) with Caina? That would be EPIC. i must say, I really rather liked Kylon. 😉
Anyway, I wanted to say that last month, I’ve been pouring through your books, and once I read them all, I decided to read a different book about vamps and the lot. It took me a while to get used to the way that particular author wrote. As you probably know, each author has their own style of writing, words they always use, gestures or expressions the main character always uses and so on. Basically Caina’s trademark is the “icy blue eyes, clever, demonslayer, balarigar” and that stuff. I honestly don’t know what point I’m trying to make by writing this. I guess I want to say that people have favorite authors because they like the book, sure, but an author has to have this THING…their own way of writing. Iron rules are one thing, and of course there has to be drama, but the way an author writes is the deepest of them all…I have read many books where the tale was capturing, but i couldn’t read the book all at once because after a time, the way of writing would…bore me? I don’t know how to express it.
What I wrote was rather chaotic…anyway, you’ll probably get a lot of marveling and asking how to spell different names and other posts from my side :3
Thanks!
At some point I’ll probably do a story in Istarinmul set from Kylon’s POV, but not quite yet. The short story I’ll write with GHOST IN THE INFERNO is going to be from Claudia Aberon Dorius’s point of view.
I suppose every author has their own style, but it does take a while to become confident in it. And different kinds of books have different dynamics – I would write a GHOSTS book way differently than a FROSTBORN one. Or try to, anyway. 🙂
Cool! I like Claudia, if only for Corvalis 😛 :’)
For how long have you been an author? Did you write in your teen years? What was your first book and when did you write it? I’m starting to write myself, and when I look back on all my stories, and every one of them is written in a different… language. No matter what you write, once you find your own world of words, you will always have that imprint of your own style . It’s sort of like you’re trademark, like, if I’ll have to read a chapter of some totally new book and guess who wrote it, then I’ll know who it is by the way they write. At least that’s what I describe my image of “reading” and how awesome a book is…or something like that. If I’m going to explain everything in my mini stories like now, then I’m going to be a pretty bad author one day…(I plan to follow the steps of my heros 😀 )
This will have a longer answer, so I’m going to turn it into a blog post! Look for it to appear in a few days.
