And so the rough draft of “Nightfighter” is at last done at 107,000 words. Four days before my self-imposed deadline, too, which means I get to drink eggnog at Christmas. Even better, the rough draft was 17,000 words and six chapters longer than I had planned, and I still finished ahead of schedule.

That will make the eggnog taste all the more…er, eggnog-tastic.

I started on October 4th, and finished on December 19th, so I did an average of about 1400 words a day for 2 1/2 months straight. Not too bad.

Now that it’s done, I’ll revise and edit it in January sometime, and then start trying to send it out. In the meantime, that means I can turn my attention to certain other projects.
