what’s next?

Now that FROSTBORN: THE WORLD GATE is out, it’s time to start the next CLOAK GAMES book, specifically CLOAK GAMES: FROST FEVER.

Actually, that’s misleading. I’m already two-thirds of the way through CLOAK GAMES: FROST FEVER, and am on chapter 8 of 12. Because of a variety of interesting circumstances  (maybe someday I’ll be able to tell the entire story), earlier in the year I had to teach myself how to work on two books at once, which is something I had never done before. But I’ve got the trick now, and I wrote most of CLOAK GAMES: THIEF TRAP while working on GHOST IN THE SEAL, and about half of CLOAK GAMES: FROST FEVER while writing FROSTBORN: THE WORLD GATE.

So next week I should finish the rough draft of CLOAK GAMES: FROST FEVER, and then it will be on to GHOST IN THE THRONE!

Nadia Moran is an interesting protagonist to write. Someone like Caina or Ridmark or even Mazael tries to figure out what the right thing to do is. Someone like Nadia only does the right thing once all other possibilities have been exhausted. 🙂  I’ve said before that I wanted to write a series about a bad guy who is dragged kicking and screaming into becoming a good guy, and she might be that bad guy.
