Like wow! You are a writing mage … hold up your staff and poof! … a new book … maybe the Sword of the Dragon Knight really exists and you just “slow down” time to publish nearly back to back books.
Not surprising as I don’t frequent your website weekly … this needs to change now.
I finished Frostborn a couple of weeks back and was just waiting.
How come the other books in the top 6 have so many more reviews? Are your readers just slack when it comes to writing reviews (guiltily, I haven’t yet written one for Ghost in the Ring, oops).
I dunno – a lot of writers go out of their way to collect reviews with giveaways and an ARC team and the like. It’s too much hassle and I prefer to just let it happen organically. Also, Amazon sometimes cracks the whip on various review schemes that dance around the TOS, so I figure it’s best to let reviews happen (or not) on their own.
Hah, yes. You would waste two or so weeks lining up reviews for your book that you could have just published it and started in on the 50. Hahahahahaha! Ok, next 1 or 2.
It doesn’t hurt. I think it’s a “social proof” kind of thing, where it’s easier to sell a book to a new reader with a lot of reviews. My marketing stuff has always been more focused on getting people to read the first book at a low cost or free, and then seeing if they move on to the rest of the series.
That approach certainly worked with me lol – I started with Ghost in the Cowl, and ended up reading every novel and novellas in the series. And then I started in on ALL of your other series lol
Thanks for many, many enjoyable hours of reading!
Just finished the book – another home run. Absolutely loved it!

Again, Thank You!

Ha! I could use a Time Stop ability. I spent all day doing Business and didn’t have much time for writing.
I’m glad you liked the books! Thanks for reading!

I was just under the impression that having a lot a reviews helped sell books. Apparently, that’s not true?

Thanks! I’m glad you liked it. Looking forward to starting on GHOST IN THE GLASS later this year!
I feel sorry for CAina and Kylon. They just can’t catch a break. Their freaking wedding night. heh.
Caina even complains about it later in the book. 🙂
I do sometimes wonder how on earth Amazon categories are chosen.
Authors can pick two categories when publishing the book, and Amazon may assign additional categories based on metadata keywords.
