new website look
I’m fiddling with the look of jonathanmoeller.com, so if you visit my site and it looks different, that’s why.
If you’ve ever run a website, you know that changing the site look is one bottomless time sinks. But I did want something more advanced than the default WordPress theme from 2012. I do like a website that looks stark and clean without a lot of extraneous stuff, and the WordPress 2012 theme definitely did that. Hopefully I can settle on a new look that’s equally stark and clean but looks a bit nicer.
If you have any examples of writer websites that you think look really good, let me know!

Looks really good, both on my desktop and on mobile. The only thing I would look at is the latest books listed in your sidebar, if its possible to have them appear in a double column. On my end that sidebar extends about 3-4 covers past the rest of your content, not really that big a deal though.
Excellent! I’m glad it looks good on both mobile/desktop.
I haven’t decided what I’m going to do long-term with the Latest Books widget in the sidebar. I only added it recently, and I’m not sure how far back I want to go. 5-6 books, maybe.
Looking at it again, the book sidebar length is only really noticeable when commenting/replying to a post. Very nice upgrade to the look. Especially love the new header look. The Otherworlds order is a little wonky.
I do need to work out how to fix the menu button while in mobile, since it’s unusably long.
Why have you never updated your Welcome! featured post? Can you not do that? It doesn’t show any of your recent series such as Cloak Games, Ghost Exile, Ghost Night or Frostborn: Swordbearer.
That’s a good idea, so I did just that!
