SEVENFOLD SWORD & Ridmark’s Tale

(Note that this post contains mild !!!SPOILERS!!! for the SEVENFOLD SWORD series.)

If all goes well, tomorrow I’m going to start on the rough draft for SEVENFOLD SWORD: SHADOW.

What’s the book going to be about?

The Masked One of Xenorium is no threat to anyone. 🙂

On a related topic, I’ve been really gratified by the positive response to the short stories that have accompanied SEVENFOLD SWORD, in particular SHIELD KNIGHT: CALLIANDE’S TALE and SHIELD KNIGHT: THIRD’S TALE. (And at the end of February I’m going to have a pleasant surprise about SHIELD KNIGHT: GHOST ORCS.) And to think that when I started SEVENFOLD SWORD, I wasn’t entirely sure if I was going to write short stories to go with the series or not!

I think the short story that will accompany SEVENFOLD SWORD: SHADOW will be called SHIELD KNIGHT: RIDMARK’S TALE, and the topic will be the events that made Ridmark decide to give up the sword of the Dragon Knight. Of course, Ridmark explains his reason for giving up the sword in the final chapter of FROSTBORN: THE SHADOW PRISON, but what events made him come to that decision?

SHIELD KNIGHT: RIDMARK’S TALE will be about those events.
