Soul of Serpents – Demonsouled #3

Not counting “Choose Your Own Adventure”, I haven’t written any new fiction this year. No short stories, no novels, nothing. Life’s been busy.

But today, that changed. I started “Soul of Serpents”, the sequel to “Demonsouled” and “Soul of Tyrants“. I’ve wanted to write this book since 2005, but I haven’t had the opportunity before now.

Here’s the first few sentences:

Mazael Cravenlock awoke from a dream of a great black wolf.

For a moment the wolf’s howls still seemed to echo in his ears.

He sat up in bed, blinking.

The howls continued.

Those weren’t howls, he realized. They were horns, the horns carried by the night guards posted upon the castle walls.

Castle Cravenlock was under attack.
